Preparing your web site
To help give you some direction on how you’d like your site to appear:
1. "Surf" the web and see what your competition is doing.
2. Make notes of what you do and do not like.
3. Bookmark the sites that are most suited to your taste.
4. Bookmark web sites that have related information to your business/
organization. you may want to have a page or section on your site that
has a list of links to other sites that pertain to your field of business.
People may want to bookmark your site to return for these references.
This is a checklist to help plan the content of your site:
1. You may want to include a brief history or philosophy about you and/
or you business/organiztion.
2. If you’re a service provider, visitors will want to know about your
experience.Put together a list of your accomplishments, experiences,
completed projects,sales track record, etc.
3. Information, prices and pictures / photos of your product(s).
4. Gather all your business/organization’s printed material for reference
including service brochures, news media.
5. Are you offering services that are different, unique or better than your
competition? How will they benefit your viewer?
6. A copy of your business/organization logo (if you have one).
7. Lastly. . .What questions do you customers typically ask you? This is the
information that will be of interest to viewers.
